27, May, 2025

On May 27, 2025, the National Grain Supply Company (SABIL) welcomed H.E. Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, Governor of the General Food Security Authority, during his visit to the company’s branches in Jeddah and Al-Jumum, located in the Makkah region. The visit aimed to review SABIL’s preparedness and operational readiness to meet the wheat supply needs of flour mills as part of the company’s plan for the Hajj season of 1446H.

During the visit, SABIL presented its approved operational plans for the season, the current wheat stock levels, and its mechanisms for promptly responding to flour mill requests. The company’s CEO, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Owais, affirmed that SABIL operates under an annual plan focused on reinforcing wheat reserves during the Ramadan and Hajj seasons to ensure efficiency and rapid response.

Wheat reserves in the Makkah and Madinah regions currently exceed 600,000 tons, in addition to over 1.2 million tons across other regions of the Kingdom. These reserves reflect SABIL’s high level of preparedness and its strategic role in supporting the national food security system and serving the needs of pilgrims during the Hajj season.
